Women on boards: Beyond the 2026 milestone
Lundi 21 Sep 2026
17h30 - 21h00Chambre de Commerce
With the June 2026 deadline of the EU Women on Boards Directive now passed, this afterwork event offers an opportunity to assess progress across Europe and explore what comes next. The keynote session will provide an overview of developments following the Directive's implementation, highlighting advances in board diversity across Member States, successful national approaches, and key lessons learned. It will also examine the broader business case for diverse boards, including their role in strengthening governance, improving decision-making, fostering innovation, and supporting long-term performance.
The discussion will then focus on Luxembourg, where the Directive, despite directly affecting only a limited number of listed companies, can serve as a catalyst for a broader conversation on leadership and governance. Through a panel discussion with business leaders and governance experts, participants will explore how to sustain momentum, promote diversity in SMEs and family-owned businesses, strengthen board talent pipelines, and prepare organisations for future challenges such as technological transformation and artificial intelligence. Co-organised by EWOB and the ILA Sustainability Strategy and Nomination & Remuneration Working Committees, the event aims to position board diversity as a strategic priority for building resilient and future-ready organisations. The conference will conclude with a networking cocktail, offering participants the opportunity to continue the conversation and exchange insights with peers and experts.
